Accessibility

In preparation for the launch of 1in5Stories.com, a multimedia documentary project, I am designing this site to be as accessible as possible to all people.

Features

Some of the accessible features include:

  1. If you increase your browser text size, the entire site changes proportionally... no ridiculously tiny margins.
  2. Skip Navigation. A link, invisible to most visitors, allows visitors using a screen reader to navigate within the page.
  3. Cascading style sheets. The layout is determined entirely by CSS. If you use your own CSS, this site is entirely navigability. No strange, outdated HTML styles.
  4. Good contrast. We use dark text on light backgrounds.
  5. Clear, multiple ways to navigate within the site.

How are we doing?

This is our first site, designed from the bottom up, with accessibility in mind. Please contact us with any feedback you may have.
