Video or Film?
In the beginning, there was S-VHS linear editing with a crude controller and a Panasonic switcher. If you’re older, you may remember cutting film with a razor blade; if you’re older, you may wonder how anyone ever accomplished anything before they invented Avid.
What’s a Filmmaker? What’s a Videomaker?
My father is a certified public accountant, my father-in-law is licensed to sell insurance, my wife is an associate clinical social worker, and my sister will soon take the bar exam and become a lawyer.
Me? Like anyone else, I can call myself a filmmaker because I choose to call myself one. It helps to have produced a moving picture of some kind. But then again, who hasn’t?
What does Twenty24 mean, anyhow?
Since the original name I picked for my production company turned out to be a defunct pornographer from Canada, and the second name I picked turned out to be a former brand name product that I had never heard of but is apparently widely collected as an antique, I settled on these numbers. The Twenty is always spelled out. The 24 is always numerical. I figure this will work out until the year 2024, when I’ll develop that annoying Twentieth Century Fox problem.
